Prologue is based on material derived from the solo part of my clarinet concerto, Inside Out, commissioned by Rolf Borch and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. It is composed as a solo piece, to be performed at concerts which does not include the Concerto. It is, though, possible to perform Prologue as indeed a prologue to the clarinet concerto, with the orchestra on stage. Preferably the concerto should then start attacca, immediately after Prologue is finished.
